About Tacos Ponchos
Mr. Oswaldo Sosa (Poncho) and Mrs. Esther Sosa, both from the Mexican state of Puebla, had five children: Alfonso (Ponchin), Jose, Roberto, Patricia, and Maria. Alfonso, the eldest, emigrated to the United States at the age of 14 in 1985, heading to New York City. As a young teenager, he worked cleaning tables at a restaurant until he had the opportunity to work as a cook. He later moved to Florida in 1989, where he worked for several years as a cook at a restaurant called Garcia’s.
In 1992, he met his wife Cynthia, and they were married in 1993. They had three children: Gabriella, Alfonso Jr., and Cristian, who later gave them five grandchildren: Gianna, Daniella, Luchiana, Giuliano, and Elianna.
Mr. Oswaldo (Poncho) emigrated to the United States in 1991 and settled in Florida. He passed away on March 9, 2021. In loving memory of his name, we decided to open this taquería so he would always be remembered as a good father, grandfather, and a truly kind man. And with the authentic flavor of Mrs. Esther, his wife who lives on, whose every touch in the kitchen turns into a rich and delicious Mexican dish, we proudly carry on this family legacy.
